There are a lot of massage therapists, personal trainers, spas, gyms and health professionals out there. What makes us different is our dedication to results-based practices, focusing on modalities and training methods that are true preventative health measures, rather than just targeting the symptoms. This leads to real, measurable results you can see.

In addition to our drive for effectiveness, we also believe that convenience and quality are greatly lacking in the health and wellness industry. Is it really doing your back any good to get worked on at a spa that you have to drive through LA traffic to get to? You could bring in a solo practitioner, but then you don’t have the guaranteed, consistent quality service that a studio can offer. And when it comes to training, what most gyms offer are pre-built plans, sometimes with small changes based on what you tell them when you sign up. Personal training is NOT a one size fits all field!

You could say that our real goal is to bring validation back to the massage and personal training fields. All too often, especially in LA, massage is seen as an ‘adult trade,’ something that people do when they can’t find other steady work, or a corporate worker’s midlife crisis Plan B. Personal training is seen as a way for gyms to gyp their members for more money by offering moral support while they work out, but without showing great results that justify the expense.

We intend to hoist massage therapy and personal training back up to their positions of respected, scientifically-proven, preventative medicine prominence. We are skilled, we are professional, and we are here to help you become a better, healthier person.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business
meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just
a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. In our desire to be
effective and fair to all of our clients and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we
have adopted the following policies:

  • 24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows
the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment.
  • If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full
amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled
    appointment.

No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for
whatever reason will be considered a “no-show”. They will be charged for their “missed”
appointment and future service will be denied until payment is made.

Arriving late
Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your
session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow
yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there
is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment
actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session.

Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan
accordingly and be on time.

FAQ

Where are you located?
We are a completely mobile operation, meaning that we come to you to provide all of our services. If you do not have a comfortable or practical location available for use, we can suggest a public place to meet (personal training only).

What services do you provide?
We provide a wide variety of personal training and massage therapy services on several different scales (i.e. personal, office) and in many different combinations (i.e. monthly plans, weekly plans,). Please check our Massage Therapy and Personal Training pages for a list and explanation of services, and our Rates page for a list of prices for a la carte services and package deals.

What makes geo•gia health different from the competition?
At geo•gia health, we focus on results-based practices, which means we do not provide any services that are not proven to work when professionally applied. This means that the massages will feel great, but they will also help fix the root of whatever problem is causing your pain. It also means that the personal training services we provide are built for you and you alone. We also take pride in our professionalism, the convenience offered by our mobility, and our perky-yet-helpful attitudes.

Why don’t you like energy work/chakras/Reiki/etc?
It’s not that we don’t like these modalities – in fact, they have a lot of value for certain people. What we offer are services that have measurable, scientifically-proven results, and there are many modalities that have not been shown to offer such results. Nothing against them, but they aren’t our style.

What’s a happy ending?
A happy ending involves a sexual service at the end of the massage. This is something that none of our therapists provide, by the way, as it is very much illegal.

What should I wear for the massage?
That’s up to you. Many clients prefer to wear underwear, while others prefer to go completely nude. Either way, there will be a sheet covering you the entire time, and the therapist will leave the room while you change, so it all depends on your personal preference.

When should I get a massage?
Any time is a good time to get a massage! In fact, it’s best to set up a regularly scheduled massage at least once a month (but as often as several times a week) in order for it to function as a preventative medical practice. That being said, if your back (or anything else) is sore, you’re feeling particularly stressed, or if you just want to treat yourself, it’s also a great time to get a massage.

When should I not get a massage?
You should not get a massage if you are sick, have any kind of disease or infections, have any kind of broken or fractured bones, liver or kidney disease, blood clot, un-medicated high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer or open skin lesions and sores (unless they are small, in which case a therapist should be able to work around them).

Essentially these are all conditions in which a massage may make a pre-existing condition worse, which is something you definitely want to avoid.

What kind of massage is right for me?
That’s something you’ll have to decide for yourself! Take a look at the Massage page and read the descriptions of the different modalities (styles) of massage. Pick one you think you’ll like, and if you end up not being a fan, we can switch to a different modality partway through.
